Full Steam Detail started the way most good things in this trade do: one person, a very particular standard, and neighbors who kept asking who did the car. What began as weekend work for friends in Summit and Berkeley Heights turned into a fully outfitted mobile operation working the corridor from Westfield to Madison.
The decision that shaped everything was to stop competing on speed and price. There are plenty of places to get a car cleaned quickly. There are very few people in this area who will spend eight hours correcting a black finish under controlled light, then coat it properly, then come back monthly to keep it that way. That’s the work we wanted — so that’s the only work we sell.
Practically, that means a premium-only menu, honest recommendations (including the times we tell you your paint doesn’t need correction yet), and recurring plans built so the finish never falls behind. Everything happens in your driveway, in the daylight, with our own water and power.
If your car is something you look back at when you walk away from it, we’re probably a good fit.

Do you come to my home or office?
Yes — we’re fully mobile and come to you anywhere in the Summit, Short Hills, Westfield, Chatham, Madison area and surrounding NJ towns. Driveway, office lot, or garage all work.
Do you need access to my water or electricity?
No. Our van carries its own water and power, so we’re fully self-contained. All we need is space to park next to your vehicle.
What areas do you serve?
We’re mobile and based in Union County, serving Summit, Short Hills/Millburn, Westfield, Chatham, Madison, and surrounding towns in Morris, Essex, and Somerset counties. Not sure if you’re in range? Text us — we’re flexible for the right job.
